I’m excited to share that I got a lead role in an upcoming audio thriller called Third Level. This has actually been the most multi-stage audition process I’ve been through so far, so it was neat to actually get the role in the end!

I auditioned for the role of Mira on September 30, 2025, reading a few lines from the beginning of her journey. I was shortlisted the same day, and the next day the director sent me a message to let me know I’d be moving on to the next round. The shortlist was gathered from more than 80 submissions, but it seemed like an unusually large shortlist by the time I got the invitation; I don’t know how many people were invited, but it was at least 20.

On October 13, 2025, we were invited to a second read that involved playing part of a scene–quite a lengthy read from closer to the middle of the story. I tried to showcase variety and emotional range since I got so much material to work with. I liked the cohesive writing in the source material. I sent my callback audition in and hoped for the best.

On October 25, 2025, I got the notification that I was shortlisted yet again. I didn’t know at that time what the final count was but I later found out there were four of us in the final round to play Mira. This was kept pretty private and we didn’t have any interaction with each other, so there was no way to know what we were up against. We were privately sent additional scripts–two scenes that were quite different from each other. We also received some background info about the character to inform our performance. I played one of the scenes mixing in recent trauma and arrogance, and the second one with more humility and openness, as well as some residual confidence. It was a challenge and required some work to get heavy breathing and fear to sound right as well.

And finally, on November 2, 2025, I was offered the role. I’m told it was a very tough decision, but I like this author’s work and am excited about being a part of this story, so I am glad I made it! I was told that there are really three main characters, but if one of the three could be said to be “the” protagonist, it’s the character I’m playing. Definitely an honor to be a protagonist. 🙂

Looking forward to seeing how this project comes out. The director seems thorough and motivated, so I think it will develop into something special.
