IvyD is a versatile voice actor looking for a place in your project.

The History:

Ivy is relatively new on the scene, having begun her voice acting journey in December 2024. In the late 1990s, she first became interested in the possibility of becoming a voice actor when the performers in Animaniacs captured her heart, but initial investigation suggested professional voice actors had to live in Los Angeles, so she pursued her other artistic interests. She went to music school (instrument: voice) and dabbled in musical theatre performances, but determined stage acting was not part of the dream. But she remained interested in using her voice to give life to characters, and in the early 2000s, she provided voices for two small projects (a student project and a now-defunct Flash animation comedy). The dream resurfaced when Ivy fell in love with the 2013 cartoon Steven Universe and admired the acting–especially the music. She followed the actors’ careers and was eventually inspired to send an audition for a project she stumbled across. She was startled to be chosen for the main cast based on her very first audition for an audio drama, and has been auditioning for small productions ever since.

The Present:

Ivy has a diverse bag of tricks in her arsenal, but prefers to act pseudonymously at this time and will not be linking to her unrelated work. Details about her personal projects will be vague and photos will be filtered for purposes of this page.

Ivy is still getting her feet wet with voice acting, but has learned a lot in the short time she’s been involved. She’s attended one workshop and one professional audition so far, and she is currently working with multiple production teams on indie projects, small-studio projects, and student projects. She is recording with a RØDE premium microphone and uses Audacity editing software.

As an author, Ivy has multiple publications: one award-winning book sold to a mainstream publisher in 2014, and her various related articles, interviews, and media have earned her international attention. She has spoken at events and universities, participated in television and documentary interviews, and lent support to other authors and activists by writing their forewords or blurbing their books. She has also sold short fiction to multiple magazines and anthologies (mostly science fiction and fantasy). As a musician, Ivy is a singer (and dabbler on multiple instruments, particularly ukulele), and she provides the vocals in a local cover band. She sings anything from musicals to folk music to rock. As an artist, Ivy loves a good pencil sketch and her Copic markers. She runs two webcomics. Beyond that, she is an activist, a reader, an editor, a baker, a podcaster, a plant aficionado, a cartoon nerd, a blogger, and an eater of jellybeans.

The Future:

The dream would be to land some regular work voicing a cartoon character or video game character–especially if it’s for a musical project. However, in the near future, Ivy is looking forward to more of the projects she’s participated in getting released. Once she has enough experience in released projects, she’ll be looking into creating a professional reel and applying for some more mainstream opportunities. Eventually, she’d love to work with an agent and get regular voice acting work, and perhaps establish a more professional-level home studio for remote recording.
