About the show: A modernization of the original Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod Crane starts out as a lonely, intellectual kid with a keen interest in history, but he feels like the family outcast and he struggles to connect romantically. His crush on Katrina Van Tassel is strong, but she’s indecisive, and repeatedly strings him along without quite meaning to. As his life gets darker, Ichabod’s mind is plagued by a presence demanding to be let in. When he becomes a suspect in a series of recurring murders, he’s not so sure he didn’t have something to do with it. His family and friends have only pieces of the puzzle, and now they’re trying to put it together. . . .
Creator’s Character Description: Lily is Ichabod Crane’s younger sister—sharp, guarded, and quietly emotional. On the surface, she’s composed and pragmatic, often defaulting to sarcasm or avoidance rather than vulnerability. But underneath, she’s layered with guilt and grief she doesn’t quite know how to name. She walked away from her brother when their family fell apart and built a new life, only to find herself haunted by the silence that followed. She doesn’t cry easily, but when she does, it’s earned. Her love for Ichabod is real—complicated, buried under missed calls and half-finished texts. She’s a realist who wants to believe people change, but fears they don’t. She’s articulate but tense when cornered, always choosing restraint over mess—until the mess becomes impossible to avoid.
What do I like best about playing this character: Sometimes it’s fun to be the annoying little sister. But even though she’s not a major character in the show, she has some complexity and I get to play with that as she matures over the course of the story. She’s pretty emotional, which lets me have a lot of intensity and variety.
What do I like least about playing this character: Sometimes she feels a little cruel when she teases her brother, and that’s never fun because when you play a character who wants to do these things, you have to sell it. She also has to hum along to the radio or sing here and there, and the script said she does so off key–that’s very difficult for someone who’s a trained singer to sound authentically off key!
I have also provided fill-in lines for an unnamed student.
